Techstars Company Notion Passes $200k in Kickstarter Funding
Boulder, CO (PRWEB) October 09, 2014 -- Notion, a Boulder Techstars Company, today announced that Kickstarter funding for its home intelligence system had surpassed $200k with more than 1,000 backers. Notion is still available on Kickstarter until October 16, 2014, here: http://bit.ly/prwebdemoday.
Notion allows businesses, home owners, property managers and vacation homeowners to easily monitor and protect their properties. The Notion system includes an Internet-connected hub and multi-function sensors, each able to detect acceleration, water leaks, temperature, sound, natural frequency, and more.
Notion sensors are placed around the home and send real-time texts, email alerts, or push notifications about hundreds of events, such as a baby crying, a near-empty propane tank, a door, window, garage door or gun safe opening, lights left on, and much more. For businesses, Notion sensors can be used to detect energy waste, traffic counts and store movements, among other uses. The sensors can easily be moved and reprogrammed, and the system is designed to integrate with Apple HomeKit, Nest, IFTTT, and other connected home devices and platforms. Notion is managed through iOS and Android applications.
“We built Notion to provide home and business owners, as well as parents, pet owners and others, with an incredibly powerful system that is also easy to use,” said Notion CEO and co-founder, Brett Jurgens. “The support for Notion since our launch has been amazing and we’re excited to get the system in the hands of our customers. We know they are going to love being able to monitor their homes from the palm of their hand.”
Notion will be launching its first major manufacturing run in Colorado.“We’ll keep manufacturing here in the U.S. as long as possible and if it continues to make sense for our customers,” said Jurgens. Notion will also be releasing an API to allow other connected home devices and platforms to leverage its data.
Notion was one of 13 companies to be selected for the Boulder Techstars incubator program. More than 1,300 companies applied to Techstars. Notion’s announcement was made today at the Techstars Demo Day in Boulder.
