Malashock Dance / RAW5 Two Nights Only November 7 & 8, 2014 Lyceum Theater - Horton Plaza
San Diego, CA (PRWEB) October 14, 2014 -- Malashock/RAW 5 is ready to launch its fifth year annual performance.
Founder and Artistic Director, John Malashock, says that “this program allows our dance company to investigate provocative themes in a ‘safe place to do unsafe work.’” What makes this work unique is its power to elicit strong audience response by allowing company artists to make choices with unfettered artistic expression.
Audience members and the community are encouraged to become actively engaged in the artistic experience through invitations to open rehearsals, intimate previews, and facilitated “talk backs” which are scheduled throughout the rehearsal and performance period. “We enthusiastically want our audience to provide feedback because this direct interaction with the artists only deepens their connection to the work,” said Malashock.
Three works will be presented in RAW5: Uneasy Surrender (2012), Departure of the Youngsters (1989), Party of One (World Premiere), all choreographed by John Malashock, a six-time Emmy-award winning choreographer and producer of dance films.
