New York (PRWEB) October 13, 2014
J. Melissa Cooper was selected as a finalist in the Young Female Entrepreneur, Female Executive of the Year, and Female Entrepreneur categories in the 11th annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business. She will ultimately be a gold, silver, or bronze Stevie Award winner.
The Stevie Awards for Women in Business honor women executives, entrepreneurs, employees, and the companies they run worldwide. The Stevie Awards have been deemed the world’s premier business awards.
Gold, silver, and bronze Stevie Award winners will be announced during a gala event at the New York Marriott Marquis hotel on Friday, November 14. Nominated women executives and entrepreneurs from the U.S. and several other countries are expected to attend. The event will be broadcast live on U.S. radio (and simulcast worldwide) by BizTalkRadio and recorded for a later TV broadcast.
More than 1,200 entries were submitted this year for consideration in more than 90 categories, including Executive of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year, Women Helping Women, and Communications Campaign of the Year.
Cooper is executive vice president of Talent Inc. and the founder of HirePerfect. A triple-certified résumé writer and dual-certified HR professional holding both the SPHR and PHR designations, Cooper has nine years of executive recruiting experience and over six years of professional résumé-writing experience. She holds a Master of Science in Human Resource Management from New York University and a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing from Brandeis University.
Cooper has dedicated her career to all facets of the job market and organizational effectiveness. She’s a member of the Women Presidents’ Organization, a recipient of the 2014 Enterprising Women of the Year Award, and was short-listed for the 7th Annual 50 Fastest Growing Women-Owned/Led Companies in 2014.
More than 100 business professionals worldwide chose finalists during preliminary judging. Members of five final judging committees will determine the gold, silver, and bronze Stevie Award placements from the finalists during final judging October 20-29.
“Every year, we receive the most amazing and inspiring stories of achievement from women-owned and -run organizations around the world,” said Michael Gallagher, founder and president of the Stevie Awards. “The first-round judges have told us how delighted they are with this year’s field of finalists. We’re looking forward to recognizing them in New York on November 14.”
