New York City’s Holiday Events are Announced
New York, NY (PRWEB) October 13, 2014 -- The colors of the leave changing means one thing—holiday time is just around the corner. The busiest time of the year for the Big Apple comes around the end of the year—when the snow starts to fall, the festivities and cheer are on the rise. The saying goes, “there’s nothing like holidays in New York City,” and keeping with the spirit of the season, New York City Vacation Packages (NYCVP) has put together some special customizable vacation packages for the upcoming holidays.
Thanksgiving Day Parade VIP View Vacation
Along with accommodations for 4-nights or longer in a deluxe room at the New York Hilton Midtown or a similar hotel, guests planning their vacations around the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will get a number of holiday events in this package. Thanksgiving morning starts with a deluxe breakfast buffet in the New York Hilton starting at 7am and a private and secure outdoor viewing area will be available once the famous floats and iconic balloons are starting their march. The added advantage of the Insider’s VIP Parade View package is that guests will receive in-and-out privileges during the parade for guests to keep themselves warm, have a bite to eat, get a hot beverage, then return to the festivities while all others are just stuck outside in the cold. That night, guests can participate in an evening Holiday Window Displays Motorcoach Sightseeing Tour to get in the spirit of the upcoming Christmas season. Additional add-ons include a Wednesday afternoon balloon inflation tour, Thanksgiving lunch or Turkey Dinner reservations, or Break with Santa for the little ones.
Rockefeller Christmas Tree Lighting Package
The Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony has been an honored tradition and one of New York City’s most celebrated events for over 80 years. The tree will be lit at 9pm on Wednesday, December 3rd. NYCVP has put together a vacation package commemorating the event, which includes accommodations at a Manhattan hotel and the exclusive Rockefeller Center Tree Lighting Party. NYCVP’s party is located just steps from the tree, at the center of Rockefeller Center in the Brasserie Ruhlmann (45 Rockefeller Center), and is scheduled from 7:30pm to 10pm. Attendees will be served hors d’oeuvres and drinks and have access to facilities, while others crowd outside. Guests also have the option of adding an elegant, 3-course pre-party dinner to their packages prepared by the chefs at Brasserie Ruhlmann. A professional photographer will be at the event to take pictures with the lit Rockefeller Christmas tree as the backdrop.
The tree will remain erected through January 7th. After the first official lighting on December 3rd, the tree is illuminated daily from 5:30am until 11:30pm. On Christmas, the tree will be lit for a continuous 24-hours, and on New Year’s Eve the lights are turned off at 9:00pm in anticipation of the New Year’s Ball Drop in Times Square.
New Year’s Eve Times Square Ball Drop Vacation
At 11:59 p.m. on December 31st, the giant ball on top of One Times Square will begin its 60 second descent as voices below come together to count down the last seconds of the year. New Year’s Eve in Times Square has been a worldwide tradition since 1904, and millions of people flood to Times Square every year to ring in the New Year. The schedule is set: at six o’clock EST, it all starts as the New Year’s Eve Ball will be lit and rise to the top of One Times Square. Midnight is the finale when it comes back down. But what about the in-between?
NYCVP has an extraordinary vacation package set around the biggest event in NYC every year. Accommodations can be booked for 2-nights or longer at a Midtown Manhattan hotel right in the heart of the action, with a New Year’s Eve Ball Drop Gala Party where guests can watch the ball drop from the comfort and luxury of the indoors.
The party is located at Convene at 810 7th Avenue on the 22nd and 23rd stories—just 10 short blocks from the Waterford Crystal Ball in the heart of Times Square. It is scheduled from 8 p.m. until 12:30 a.m. and an open bar, hors d’oeuvres, buffet dinner stations and desserts will be available to attendees. Convene’s windows wrap around all four walls, so guests will have a commanding view of all the festivities down below, and large flat-screen TVs will be in place to view all the New Year’s Eve network specials. While waiting for the ball to drop, guests will be entertained with DJ music to dance to and a souvenir photo booth to remember the evening. There’s even a roving magician for the kids (or for the kids at heart). Then at midnight, the confetti and fireworks will fill in the perfect backdrop for welcoming in the New Year in Times Square.
Pricing for all of these packages includes all state and local taxes and gratuities, plus a number of free bonus features included in every hotel-inclusive vacation package. All of NYCVP’s vacation packages are completely customizable and can include a number of sightseeing tours or tickets to Broadway shows.
