Thank you to all NAPW Women of Achievement for rising to success with another month of amazing, inspirational, charitable Chapter networking initiatives. You are all great women standing behind other great women… each other!

The successes and accomplishments of all women were celebrated this September by NAPW members as they recognized Women of Achievement Month on the NAPW Foundation Calendar. At NAPW Local Chapter monthly meetings across the US, professional women gathered to acknowledge the rise to success of women in their communities and their own Local Chapters.

“The extraordinary professional, personal and charitable accomplishments of our NAPW members this past September for Women of Achievement Month are evidence that when great women support, empower and stand behind each other, our rise to success encourages and inspires other great women,” says Star Jones, President.

Hosting guest speakers, celebratory dinners and networking events, NAPW members from New York to California, down south and up north, found unique ways to applaud the efforts of women as they continue to make a difference in today’s world.

Like many NAPW Local Chapters, NYC recognized the accomplishments of one special woman with a 2014 Women of Achievement Award. Joi Gordon, CEO of Dress For Success, an NAPW Foundation philanthropic partner, was recognized by Louise Newsome, NYC Chapter President and NAPW National Director of Chapters. “Joi was chosen for her tireless commitment to improving the lives of women,” said Ms. Newsome. “More than 70 professional women attended the NYC event and $1200 was raised for Dress For Success.”

Other Local Chapters in NAPW’s Eastern Region including Philadelphia and King of Prussia, PA; South Charlotte, NC and Forest Hills, NY recognized women in their own Chapters and communities, many active in their local Dress For Success chapters and other charitable organizations, with Achievement Awards. Local Chapters in Warwick, RI; Morris County, NJ; Howard County, MD and Hartford County, CT hosted guest speaker and Woman of Achievement Stacy Michelle, business coach and creator of the Money Mojo Diaries. Other dynamic speakers energized their audiences and NAPW members empowered one another with their words of encouragement and tales of successes in Boston, MA; Chesapeake and Chester, VA; Manchester, NH and Delmarva, DE.

In NAPW’s Central Region, members and guests of The Woodlands, TX Local Chapter gathered for a networking meeting where Chapter President Elizabeth Greever shared her tips and advice on time management, creating goals and persevering with positivity.

A celebratory dinner that honored members’ achievements, as well as important women who have made a difference in their lives, was enjoyed by all at the Orland Park, IL Local Chapter event. “The meeting was a time for all to reflect on their achievements, remembering it’s always great to inspire others along the way,” said Chapter President Helen Morgan. Also holding networking meetings in NAPW’s Northern Region were Local Chapters in Cedar Rapids and Merrillville, IN and Western Milwaukee, WI, where members celebrated their successes by creating inspiration boards. In Indianapolis, IN, members held a fashion fundraising event benefiting the Indianapolis Dress For Success, featuring local Women of Achievement and DFS clients. “A night of high fashion, great food and fun was had by all,” said Chapter President Lynn Moore.

Throughout NAPW’s Southern Region, professional women came together to honor Women of Achievement in their communities. The St. Petersburg, FL Chapter welcomed City Council Member and guest speaker Amy Foster, who continues to work hard making a difference in the lives of women and girls. The Augusta, GA Chapter hosted a dinner that honored all members, along with their daughters, mothers and friends, as Women of Achievement. Guest speakers at networking meetings in Pembroke Pines, Jacksonville and Aventura FL; Marietta and Augusta, GA and Fayetteville, AR inspired members with their stories of achieving success and conquering goals.

In NAPW’s Western Region, time stood still for a few moments as members in the Simi Valley, CA Local Chapter jotted down their short-term goals for the year and placed them in their very own time capsule. When it’s opened next September, the member who achieved her goal will be honored with a special award and luncheon. The Los Angeles, CA Chapter honored Developmental Psychologist Dr. Esther Hess with a 2014 Woman of Achievement Award. Other networking meetings in the Western Region included those in Las Vegas, NV; Salt Lake City, UT and Pasadena and Santa Clarita, CA.

“Thank you to all NAPW Women of Achievement for rising to success with another month of amazing, inspirational, charitable Chapter networking initiatives. You are all great women standing behind other great women… each other!” said Star Jones.
