Millennials are shaping the landscape of our economic future through disruptive mobile technology.

President Obama recently released a report acknowledging tech-savvy millennials (the generation of Americans born roughly between 1980 and 2000) as the economic engines driving our nation's future. During his visit to the tech innovation hub of Southern California he spoke at length about how the power structure of the modern world is dramatically shifting.

Economic growth is heavily dependent upon an interconnected workforce and value-add mobile solutions provided by millennial-run tech company's like Los Angeles based Dogtown Media. The political order from Washington D.C. to Berlin recognizes that the leaders of tomorrow increasingly consider conventionalism irrelevant.

Marc Fischer, CEO of Dogtown Media, met with President Obama during the event. He had this to say, “The President was genuinely concerned with addressing issues facing the millennial generation. Obama understands how much influence innovative digital workers and the entrepreneurial class have in creating new economic models across the globe. We agree that the Internet should remain a free and level playing field, and that supporting tech entrepreneurs is in our national interest.”

In an article by the LA Times, Obama recognized that US immigration problems along the southern border aren’t only about keeping people out, but also making it easier to keep brilliant people, designers, developers and high-tech visionaries in America. He also reiterated his commitment to supporting women in the workforce pursuing their entrepreneurial dreams and running disruptive tech companies.

Just before Mr. Obama stopped by to visit Dogtown Media at Cross Campus he published an op-ed on Medium.com entitled, Why I’m Betting on You to Help Shape the New American Economy.

The article expounded that technologies that didn’t exist 20 years ago, from mobile apps to streaming video to social networks, support millions of American jobs today. The principles and philosophies which drive the millennial culture are disruption, adaption, and creativity outside the conventionality of a bygone era.
