Allsup and Case Management Society of America celebrate annual National Case Management Week Oct. 12-18

Allsup joins the Case Management Society of America (CMSA) in celebrating National Case Management Week Oct. 12-18, 2014.

Case managers play an essential role by helping patients, providers, payers and the public navigate an increasingly elaborate healthcare system. During National Case Management Week, Oct. 12-18, Allsup, a nationwide provider of Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) representation, veterans disability appeal and Medicare plan selection services, is joining the Case Management Society of America (CMSA) to recognize the vital involvement of case managers in the healthcare community.

This week provides a time for CMSA, its members and other organizations to honor, celebrate and increase appreciation for what case managers contribute to the healthcare community. The national association collaborates on a number of initiatives that include the National Transitions of Care Coalition, the Hospital Care Collaborative, the National Quality Forum (NQF) advisory panels and others.

CMSA’s 2014 theme for National Case Management Week is “Building Steps to a Brighter Future.” The association is committed to promoting the growth and value of case management with its international reach of over 25,000 members and subscribers through a network of more than 75 affiliated and pending chapters. The case managers’ role increases as patients and their families become a more integral part of the healthcare team to improve communication, adherence, and the patient experience.

“In a time of unprecedented change and uncertainty in the healthcare industry, case managers are an essential part of the answer to Americans’ need for healthcare solutions that work for their unique needs,” said CMSA President Kathleen Fraser. “Our members help build those personal connections and reduce the fragmentation of healthcare services by facilitating interaction and communication on the patient’s team of care providers.”
