Annual Evanston Harvest Celebration at Now We're Cookin' - Chefs/Producers centerpiece of sell-out Fundraiser for Friends of Evanston's Farmers Markets
Evanston, IL (PRWEB) October 22, 2014 -- The Annual Evanston Harvest Celebration has become THE annual event to look forward to for people who want to support both farmers and great Chefs in and around Evanston. The sell-out crowd enjoyed the incredible meal was complimented by locally produced beer from Temperance Beer which just celebrated their first year, and a "green" focus as Whole Foods provided compostable cups and plates, and another local Evanston company, Collective Resource provided composting services for the Chefs.
Funds raised through the evening will enable the Friends to significantly expand the LINK program at the Evanston Markets thereby expanding community access to great locally produced products. In addition, they will be able to broaden their educational and outreach programs throughout the coming year.
The incredible tasting menu was the centerpiece of the evening, and was prepared by local Chefs using products from their farm partners (all producers at the Evanston Market). Many thanks to the featured Chefs:
• Bistro Bordeaux - Chef Aaron Brockwell
• Boltwood - Chef Brian Huston
• Chef’s Station – Chef Jose Romero
• Farmhouse – Chef Eric Mansavage
• Feast & Imbibe - Chef D’Andre Carter
• Found - Chef Nicole Pederson
