Phelps Memorial Hospital Center Deploys Newest Allen Technologies IPS Touch Solution to Increase Patient Satisfaction
Austin, TX (PRWEB) October 14, 2014 -- Allen Technologies today announced that Phelps Memorial Hospital Center has upgraded its Interactive Patient System (IPS) to their latest touch screen solution. This upgrade will provide enhanced patient education and entertainment, with the goal of increasing patients’ engagement and satisfaction levels.
“As a customer of Allen Technologies since 2006, we were pleased with our original Allen Technologies system but made the decision in 2013 to upgrade to the new Allen Technologies IPS Touch solution for several specific reasons”, said Eileen Sullivan, Administrative Project Coordinator. “We really liked the touch screen system’s simplified usability as well as the much improved view-ability of the larger, higher quality screen. Our main goal for upgrading was to increase patients’ satisfaction. This new system is proving to be much more user-friendly, improving not only patients’ satisfaction but the nursing staff’s satisfaction as well.”
The Allen IPS Touch solution provides patient education videos at the patient’s fingertips making it much easier for nursing staff to review educational information with patients. “This is a huge improvement in the learning and communication process with our patients” continued Sullivan.
Another service provided by Allen Technologies is an on-site team member who provides personalized services and 1:1 training for patients at all 115 IPS Touch system locations. This service supports Phelps’ outstanding Hospitality Service program, which has representatives assigned to each nursing unit from 6:30 am until 7:30 pm, 7 days a week, including holidays. Hospitality representatives visit patients several times each hour offering to provide water, blankets, snacks or other non-clinical items that help to improve patient comfort and ensure the best possible experience for patients and their families. Allen Technologies works hand-in-hand with the nursing staff and Phelps’ Hospitality Service to provide exceptional customer service at the bedside. The Allen team member provides patient orientation; new feature releases, technical assistance, nurse training, and ensures the system is operating at peak performance.
