New Game Knownote Provides Alternative to Music Lessons
Gainesville, FL (PRWEB) October 14, 2014 -- Through a new computer game called KnowNote, users can learn to play music through the keyboard they already know: the computer keyboard.
“Music lessons can be tedious, and musical instruments and instructions cost a lot of money,” said Jason Cook, president of KnowNote. “But now, if you can type, you can play music. As you play, your brain actually learns which notes are higher and lower without ever studying sheet music.”
By interfacing letters on the QWERTY keyboard with musical notes, users learn how to play popular songs such as “Clocks” and “Fireflies.” All of the songs are legally licensed through Universal Music Group, and users choose their instruments from options including guitar, piano and clarinet.
The game shows the user what notes to play and for how long, in real time. If notes are played correctly and for the right duration, the player’s score goes higher and higher. Like many popular games with a computer platform, KnowNote can be played solo or in competition to see who can play a song better.
The game’s other features include a garage, a virtual showcase where players can spend their game-earned credits to acquire flashy musical instruments and show them off to admiring fans. There is also a studio function for the most adventurous users of all, those who dream of writing their own music compositions.
ABOUT KNOWNOTE
KnowNote allows you to learn music rapidly by the use of something very familiar to everyone: the keyboard. You learn to play music simply by playing the game. When you type the songs, your brain will automatically learn which notes are higher and lower. As you continue to play, you can learn the rest of the music paradigm without ever studying archaic sheet music. With the knowledge you gain from playing the songs we provide, you can then use the advanced studio to create and publish your own songs.
