Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) October 15, 2014 -- TGA Sports Foundation (TGASF) will host a local Golf-A-Thon with Junior golfers participating at Holmby Park (Armand Hammer) 601 Club View Drive, Los Angeles,CA on Saturday, October 25, 2014. TGA (Think, Grow, Achieve) Premier Golf and Tennis provides school based programs promoting physical, academic, and social engagement with an emphasis on character development for young students. TGA students collected pledges from families and friends and will golf as many holes as possible between the hours of 10:00 - 4:00 donating all proceeds to benefit the TGA Sports Foundation.
The TGA Sports Foundation believes children of today are our leaders of tomorrow, “Studies show children who participate in sports are physically stronger and healthier, achieve higher academic grades, socially engage with peers and adults and develop character traits to become socially responsible citizens.” Joe Hollday, President of the TGASF.
Young golfers involved in this event are demonstrating their social responsibility and desire to share the sport they enjoy with those otherwise not able.
“My son Matt’s big wish for the summer was to go to golf camp. I signed him up in March to be sure I saved him a spot at one of TGA’s camps. I was then laid off of my job in late April and it was looking like I would not be able to afford to send my son to camp. I learned that the TGA Sports Foundation provides scholarships to students that want to try golf but would not be able to on their own. I contacted the Foundation and the rest is history. My son had his summer dream because of TGA Sports Foundation. Thank you.
Everyone is welcome to come out, celebrate, participate, engage, and make a difference to others.
