US Properties Group Morrow Re-Development Project Set to Boost Local Economy
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) October 16, 2014 -- US Properties Group’s (USPG) re-development plan will create jobs and boost the local economy in Morrow, Georgia through their commitment to upgrading existing color and façade of the mall structures and parking lot improvements.
Significantly, USPG is also providing important inducement packages to new and renewing tenants. In conjunction with the City of Morrow’s local development initiatives, which have already created hundreds of jobs through a commercial and retail revitalization plan, USPG’s aggressive approach will continue to vastly improve the Southlake shopping experience.
This current investment will create a bustling and aesthetically rejuvenated shopping experience, just 14 miles south from Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, the world’s busiest airport. Anchored on every corner are some of the nation’s largest retailers, with the well-traversed area a focal point in what is set to be a 5-year plan that will see the area benefit from shopping, commercial and dining choice. Substantial growth has already begun, with the local and area municipal group making proactive efforts to complement all individual projects to deliver a holistic rejuvenation project to the area.
This retail hub will stand as the primary shopping destination in an already established shopping corridor that has been under redevelopment over the past 12 months by USPG. With significant capital investments to bring in new tenants and additionally, retaining current tenants for long-term leases, USPG has already begun the transformation of the retail experience in Morrow.
“This highly visible project has required a great deal of collaboration between the developers, town planning officials, existing tenants and the entire community,” said Cynthia Hicks, VP of Leasing & Development for USPG. “Since the acquisition, USPG has applied its trademark ‘up cycling’ to this major shopping district by utilizing the entire USPG team, not only in the acquisition, but through innovative financing, renovations, re-development, management and marketing which provide solid returns for our tenants and investors. This process allows us to renovate real estate and revitalize communities.”
Southlake Retail Centers will ultimately provide more than 250,000 square feet of redeveloped retail space and will contribute to the already thriving Mt. Zion Road corridor of Morrow, Georgia. USPG has a proven track record of turning around troubled commercial retail centers, making them great community assets through well planned and executed redevelopment and tenant security. This is evident through the 100,000 square feet already committed to Ashley’s Furniture, LA Fitness and City Café Diner. The Southlake community redevelopment will dramatically improve the shopper experience, offering additional choices, foot traffic to all tenants and will boost the local economy in terms of job creation and community spirit.
“This investment in development is instrumental in providing the local community with a visually appealing and inviting flagship shopping mecca, that includes an alfresco aesthetic that connects shopping with environmental elements. What we will see is that people in the Greater Atlanta area will travel to be part of this exciting development, and experience everything it has to offer.” JB Burke, Mayor of Morrow, GA.
“I am pleased to work with US Properties Group. They are a vital part of our business community and the council realizes that together working with companies like US Properties Group, we can get the job done.
“We are open for business to get the job done!”
