Darrin demonstrates how to perform it as follows; 7th fret of the 5th string with first finger and then hammer-on’s to the 8th and 9th frets with 2nd and 3rd fingers and then barre across the 7th fret of the 4th and 3rd strings with first finger and pick twice and then the 9th fret of the 5th string with 3rd finger. Next Darrin moves down a whole step to the 5th fret with first finger and does a hammer-on to the 7th fret with 3rd finger and then bar’s the 5th fret of the 4th and 3rd strings with first finger and picks it twice followed by the 7th fret of the 5th string with 3rd finger. And finally the open 5th string followed by hammer-on’s to the 2nd and 3rd frets with first and 2nd fingers and then the open 4th and 3rd strings picked twice and finally ending on the 2nd fret of the 5th string with first finger and the 3rd fret of the 6th string with 2nd finger. The Pentatonic Scale is a musical scale with five notes per octave. They can be found all over the world and are the main scale used in the Blues genre.
Lynyrd Skynyrd is an American rock band that popularized the Southern Rock genre in the 1970’s. In the peak of their success three members’s died in a plane crash in 1977. The band still performs to this day with an almost completely different line up.
