Algoid Technologies, a division of Faremax, Inc., has recently expanded its offering to new and existing customers.

The company, which cultures microalgae – microscopic, water-based plants with no roots or leaves, but which are nonetheless an essential resource for all life on earth - has already enjoyed success and built a substantial customer base, principally among home aquarium owners.

However, scientists are discovering that microalgae(phytoplankton) have applications in a wide range of industries, including cosmetics, animal feeds and biofuel production and Algoid Technologies is a pioneer in this "New Green Revolution”.

Microalgae produce approximately half of the world's atmospheric oxygen and absorb and store the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide as part of their growth cycle. These plants perform photosynthesis without having roots, stems, or leaves. Today, microalgae are an almost untapped resource, with only a handful of species being used out of perhaps 800,000 in total.

Previously, Algoid Technologies has only sold its products through third-party suppliers. Now, however, the company has announced the launch of a new website, http://www.algoidtech.com, that will allow business and consumer clients to buy direct.

The company has simultaneously launched a Facebook presence at http://www.facebook.com/algoidtech.

More options for customers
CEO Ilya Epshteyn believes that the new website and social media presence will improve the experience for both new and existing customers.

“The new site will simplify the ordering and re-ordering processes, and help new customers understand our product line,” he says. “In addition, commercial customers will have a single point-of-contact through which they can request quotes.

“We're launching the Facebook page at the same time so that we can bring the whole business closer to its customers. We're also passionate about spreading the word about microalgae, and the benefits Algoid Technologies can offer buyers.

“We're operating in a developing market, and we see social media as the perfect channel for spreading news both about Algoid Technologies and the microalgae industry as a whole.”
