To Accommodate Growth, Savills Studley Relocates in DC
Washington, DC (PRWEB) October 16, 2014 -- Savills Studley, the leading commercial real estate services firm, has relocated its Downtown DC office to 1201 F Street NW. The firm occupies the 5th floor and a portion of the 4th floor for a total of 25,000 square feet.
“Over the course of our 27 years at Columbia Square, we expanded our footprint gradually, taking more space over time. Recently, we found that we had simply outgrown the space and, given the current state of the market, pursued the opportunity to relocate within the neighborhood,” said Savills Studley Executive Vice President and co-regional manager Gary Stein, who represented Savills Studley in the transaction. “We are thrilled with our new, open, and collaborative space, and look forward to continued success serving our clients throughout the DC region and globally.”
Savills Studley’s DC presence has grown steadily since the opening of its offices in the region over 50 years ago. Today, the firm employs over 60 people in its downtown office in addition to over 20 in its Suburban Washington office in Tysons. Recent additions include Senior Managing Directors Patti Earnest, Stephanie Lynch, and Lindsay Stroud, and Associates Peyton Johnson, Ross Edenbaum, Robert Tarzy, and Matthew Carnovale. Savills Studley also welcomed the National Hospitality team of Executive Managing Director Marc Magazine, Senior Vice President Justin Magazine and Managing Director Tom Baker to the firm earlier this year following the merger with London-based Savills plc.
“It’s been a landmark year so far for Savills Studley in DC. We’ve grown considerably as evidenced by our new office space and continue to expand our reach globally,” said Vice-Chairman and Co-regional manager, Lois Zambo. “We are very proud of the impact we have had on the DC real estate and business community and the reputation we’ve built over the last half century. We are and will continue to be a tenacious advocate for our clients and an active participant in the greater community.”
Savills Studley is highly regarded in the DC region and is often recognized by the media and the real estate community for the firm’s work and initiatives. In 2014, Savills Studley was acknowledged by The Washington Post as a Top Workplace in the publication’s inaugural list and by The Washington Business Journal as a Best Place to Work for the 10th consecutive year. The Business Journal also honored the firm with several highly coveted Best Real Estate Deal Awards, including Deal of the Year.
Savills Studley’s commitment to serving the local community was strengthened with new initiatives over the course of the year. As part of the Corporate Advisory Board of the Washington Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights and Urban Affairs, Savills Studley works alongside the Committee and co-counsel attorneys to address discrimination and entrenched poverty in the Washington, DC, community. Additionally, Savills Studley brokers and staff remotely tutor reading to first graders at local elementary schools.
