The makers of predictive policing software technology, PredPol, announced today the hiring of engineering management expert Christy Brandt as the new Chief Product Development Officer. A Silicon Valley veteran, Brandt has more than 15 years of experience in guiding innovative quality-first product delivery and scaling fast-growth organizations.
Brandt served as Director of Engineering for Adobe Systems, where she monitored operations, deployment and client application teams for Adobe’s first fully integrated paid services subscription to over 1 million customers. She has also served as Vice President of Engineering at Move Inc., Director of Engineering at New Zing Corporation and Director of Engineering at Metacreations, after being part of the initial IPO for Fractal Design, Inc. In the last year, she has been working with Tableau Software to help bring quality-first and agile engineering practices to their product development organization. She joins PredPol’s team to facilitate the growth of their field-tested predictive policing technology.
“Christy is a leader in software engineering,” said PredPol Chief Executive Officer Larry Samuels. “She will be integral in facilitating the growth of our field-tested technology and supporting our valued partners.”
“Throughout my career I have valued working on products that have a positive impact in the world and leadership teams that have great vision for growth,” said Brandt. “PredPol is using smart software technology to provide invaluable resources here in the U.S. and overseas to help reduce crime.”
PredPol’s predictive policing software enables law enforcement agencies to better prevent crime in their communities by generating predictions based on the places and times that future crimes are most likely to occur. PredPol’s algorithms predict many types of crime, including property crimes, drug incidents, gang activity, and gun violence as well as traffic accidents.
PredPol’s technology has been helping law enforcement agencies to dramatically reduce crime in jurisdictions of all types and sizes across the U.S. and overseas. Over the past year, Atlanta and Los Angeles have reduced specific crimes in targeted areas at rates ranging from nearly 20% to over 40%.
