Amerejuve MedSpa and Cosmetic Surgery will donate to a local breast cancer care non-profit for every breast augmentation sold during the month of October. Nonprofit The Rose helps create greater access to breast cancer screening, diagnostics, and treatment throughout Southeast Texas.

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Amerejuve MedSpa and Cosmetic Surgery will donate $500 to a local nonprofit for every breast augmentation sold during the month of October.

In a breast augmentation (http://www.amerejuve.com/cosmetic-surgeries-houston/breast-surgery/), breast implants are inserted under the breast to increase size or replace lost volume. Amerejuve board-certified plastic surgeons work with clients to set realistic goals and determine the best implant and surgical options for each individual. To schedule a free surgical consultation, call (713) 960-6262.

The donation for each augmentation sold will go to local nonprofit The Rose. The Rose offers mammography and diagnostic imaging services in Southeast Texas, helping patients detect abnormalities early and navigate their treatment options.

“The Rose is doing important work to help the women and men of our community,” said Tammye Drewery, Manager of Amerejuve’s location in The Woodlands. “We’re proud to support their mission to make life-saving detection and treatment more accessible.”

Research shows that early detection is key to the treatment of breast cancer. The National Cancer Institute recommends yearly mammograms beginning at age 40. For those with a family history of breast cancer, earlier screening may be recommended. Women who have breast implants should follow the same guidelines, but they should communicate with the technician beforehand to ensure that proper scanning techniques are used to account for the implants.

Since its founding in 1986, The Rose has served nearly 500,000 patients, according to its web site. It provides mammograms, ultrasounds, biopsies, access to treatment, and support groups for insured and uninsured women and men. Financial support helps The Rose offer these services at discounted rates or on scholarship to further their mission of providing medical access to all women, regardless of whether they can pay for these services.

Cindy, a breast cancer survivor, benefited from The Rose firsthand.

"When I found my lump, I thought it can't be what I think it is. I'd always heard that you didn't need to check until you were 40 and I was 38 at the time,” she said in a testimonial. “So when we discovered my cancer, I called my three younger sisters and made them all get checked.”
