Syncbak Rolling out Raycom Media’s TV Everywhere Initiative
Cedar Rapids, IA (PRWEB) October 20, 2014 -- Syncbak announced today that it is providing the TV Everywhere platform for four Raycom Media stations in top fifty markets. In a deal similar to the one Syncbak has with FOX for its O&Os, Raycom will use Syncbak’s internet broadcast platform to extend the group’s national, local and MVPD partnerships with live and on-demand program streaming.
Raycom’s confidence in us means a lot,” says Jack Perry, Syncbak’s Founder and CEO. “As the eleventh largest broadcast group in America, Raycom understands that leadership in an ever-changing landscape requires partners with end-to-end capabilities.”
Syncbak will launch TV Everywhere solutions for Raycom’s WXIX in Cincinnati, OH; WVUE in New Orleans, LA (owned by Louisiana Media); WFLX in West Palm Beach-Ft. Pierce, FL and WBRC in Birmingham, AL. Services will include authenticated streaming, cable paywall integration and a dynamic new TV app with live and on-demand news, weather, syndicated programming and social media integration. In time, FOX network programming will be included in those station’s live, linear online stream.
“Most of our news stations are already streaming their local newscasts live, but we are excited that, with Syncbak, four of our larger FOX affiliated stations will soon have the capacity to also provide a live stream of FOX network programming and nationally syndicated programming. Being able to provide TV Everywhere service to our viewers and customers is an exciting new step into our future,” said Paul McTear, Raycom Media’s President and CEO.
“We didn’t set out to be the “Intel inside” of OTT streaming, but that is what we’ve fast become,” adds Perry. “Whether it’s a direct-to-consumer platform or authenticated streaming for cable subscribers, our technology makes it easy for any broadcaster to reach viewers over-the-top of the internet.”
