Allied Steel Buildings participates in an Export Sales Mission to Panama
Ciudad de Panamá, Panama (PRWEB) October 18, 2014 -- Florida Secretary of Commerce Gray Swoope led an export sales mission to Panama October 5 - 7, 2014. “Enterprise Florida works to promote the state as a business destination during trade and development missions, and trade shows around the world,” said Florida Secretary of Commerce and president & CEO of Enterprise Florida, Gray Swoope. “The recent mission to Panama was very successful and allowed us to focus on the strong trade partnerships the state and its businesses have with Panama. Panama is one of the strongest economies in Latin America. The country boasts the second fastest growing GDP in the region, expected to reach a 6% growth in 2015. Total merchandise trade between Florida and Panama totaled $2.3 billion in 2013 and is expected to grow in 2014.
Allied Steel Buildings started its international expansion in Panama five years ago and currently counts on 50 projects nationwide. Chris Rucker, Director of International Accounts at Allied Steel Buildings, led the company's participation in this trade mission.
The last day of the trade mission, the 7th of October, Mr. Rucker gave a speech at the Miraflores Visitors Center (CVM). The center, symbol of the country's openness, is an expression of the permanent commitment of the Panama Canal Authority to strengthen the public’s knowledge of the Canal. In his speech, Mr. Rucker thanked both, Enterprise Florida and the American Embassy in Panama, for their assistance supporting the expansion of American companies in the area.
Mr. Rucker said, "It was a great honor to be able to represent Allied Steel Buildings at this event by participating in a speaking engagement. Enterprise Florida and Allied Steel Buildings has formed a great alliance in the past 5 years, and we look forward to many more years of mutual success."
