Jose Solorio, State Senate candidate and Rancho Santiago Community College Trustee, will be the keynote speaker for the Career College of California graduation ceremony at the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana on Friday, October 24, 2014 at 7:00 PM.
Solorio, who was a member of the California State Assembly for six years and is supported by California Governor Jerry Brown, said, “I am pleased to address Career College of California’s graduates, who should be very proud of their accomplishments. Most of these graduates have already found jobs in their chosen fields, going to work in our community to make it a better place.”
Career College of California CEO Caleb Everett said, “We are honored to have former Assemblyman Solorio address our graduates. As a Harvard graduate and strong advocate for higher education in our community, Solorio brings an inspiring message of how people can transform their lives through the power of education – a transformation we experience every day at Career College of California.”
Career College of California, located in downtown Santa Ana, has trained more than 600 graduates in Orange County since 2010, with over 80% placed directly into employment, according to Everett. The nationally-accredited college offers career training programs in the healthcare, business, and legal fields, with students taking either day or night classes to complete a program within 9 months. 97% of Career College of California’s students have been awarded grants and scholarships.
Lizbeth Landeros, one of the upcoming graduates said, “I had my first daughter when I was 18 and I had never worked in my life. I decided to take charge of my life and help my husband to provide for our daughter. I saw an ad and I decided to visit Career College of California. They helped me get a full scholarship and find a path to a fulfilling career that has turned my life around. I started my new job as a Medical Assistant at Orange County Critical Care and Pulmonary even before I graduated.”
The Career College of California graduation ceremony is open to the public but due to limited space, those who wish to attend are encouraged to RSVP by e-mail to info(at)careercalifornia.edu.
