American Sleep & Breathing Academy Dental Division Announces 2015 Sleep & Wellness Conference Dates
Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) October 20, 2014 -- Last week, David Gergen, Executive Director of the American Sleep & Breathing Academy Dental Division(ASBADD) announced Dr. Robert L. Talley and Dr. Peter F. Chase as new President and Vice President, respectively, of the ASBADD. In what continues to be a great month for the dental division of the Academy, Mr. Gergen is pleased to announce that the 2015 Sleep & Wellness Conference will be taking place April 10-11, 2015 in Scottsdale, AZ at the DoubleTree Resort located at 5401 N. The ASBADD is an established educational institution for sleep disorders. We have been designed by sleep professionals to serve the community at large and educate dentists and other medical professionals in the field of sleep-disordered breathing. About David Gergen
David Gergen, CDT and President of Pro Player Health Alliance, has been a nationally respected dental lab technician for over 25 years. He received the award for “The Finest Orthodontic Technician in the Country” given by Columbus Dental in 1986. He also has been appointed Executive Director of the American Sleep and Breathing Academy Dental Division, a national interdisciplinary academy dedicated to sleep training and education with over 60,000 members. David rolled out of bed on December 4, 1982 and had his career “ah ha” moment. He knew he was going to be an orthodontic technician and he knew he was going to help people all over the country to help treat their sleep disorders in partnership with their dentists. He has worked for some of the pioneers in the orthodontic and sleep dentistry fields. He was the personal technician for the likes of Dr. Robert Ricketts, Dr. Ronald Roth, Dr. A. Paul Serrano, Dr. Clark Jones, Dr. Harold Gelb, Dr. Joseph R. Cohen, Dr. Rodney Willey, Dr. Allan Bernstein, and Dr. Thien Pham. One of his proudest achievements is receiving The National Leadership award for Arizona Small Businessman of the Year in 2004.
About Dr. Robert L. Talley
For over 40 years, Dr. Talley has focused specifically on craniofacial pain, TMJ disorders and sleep disorders. In addition to ongoing research, he completed numerous fellowships and Board certifications. In order to bring cutting edge treatments to patients, Dr. Talley founded the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain with his colleagues, serving 2 two-year terms as President and two decades as Chairman of the Continuing Education Programs for what is now the largest professional society for dentist interested in TMD, craniofacial pain, and sleep disorders. He became the first dentist in Oklahoma to become Board-certified in dental sleep medicine; Diplomate in the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine (ABDSM). He also received facility accreditation from the AADSM, joining a small, elite group of centers around the nation recognized for proficiency, professionalism and procedural excellence regarding the treatment of patients with sleep apnea and sleep-disordered breathing. Dr. Talley serves as a consultant to the Center for Devices and Radiological Health/Dental Products Panel of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
About. Dr. Peter Chase
Dr. Peter F. Chase, DDS, M.A., is past Director of the Orofacial Disorders Center at the University of the Pacific. He graduated with a D.D.S. degree from Creighton University. Dr. Chase completed a General Practice Residency at David Grant Hospital (USAF). After serving with the Air Force in Europe, he practiced General Dentistry for 15 years. Dr. Chase was drawn to academics and research and joined the faculty of the University of the Pacific. As Associate Professor, he directed the multidisciplinary Pacific Center with a focus on Temporomandibular disorders and Obstructive sleep apnea. He received his degree in Educational Psychology and completed his text The Integrated Dental Medical System in 2012. Drawn back into private practice, Dr. Chase limited his practice to physician referral Temporomandibular disorders (TMD) and Obstructive sleep disorders (OSD).
