Winning this award is one of our greatest achievements. We are always looking for ways to increase awareness and strength in our industry.

Shelby Broadband, a leading Internet Service Provider and facilities-based CLEC covering the Bluegrass Region of Kentucky, has been awarded Operator of the Year by the membership of the Wireless Internet Service Provider's Association (WISPA).

Shelby Broadband was selected among a list of many distinguished operators across the U.S. for its dedication to the fixed wireless industry. Shelby Broadband has begun building Fiber-to-the-Home networks in rural Kentucky, and recently initiated an open door policy for WISPs to learn about its operations as a way to show others in the industry how they can also build hybrid fiber/fixed wireless networks.

"Winning this award is one of our greatest achievements. We are always looking for ways to increase awareness and strength in our industry,” said Chuck Hogg, President of Shelby Broadband. "Our company is constantly building and upgrading its network to keep up with the growing consumer demand for broadband services. Opening up our operations so that others may come and learn about how to make their businesses stronger, in turn makes our industry more resilient moving forward."

Every year at WISPA's annual event, WISPAPALOOZA, the organization holds an awards banquet. Awardees are nominated and voted upon by over 830 members of WISPA. This year’s event drew over 1,150 attendees throughout in the wireless service provider industry.
