CME Outfitters Announces Brand New neuroscienceCME Live and On Demand Activity: A Bipolar Depression Case Series
Bethesda, Maryland (PRWEB) October 21, 2014 -- CME Outfitters (CMEO), a leading accredited provider in continuing medical education, announces its upcoming neuroscienceCME Live and On Demand activity, Bipolar Depression Case Series: The Art and Science of Clinical Management, premiering Monday, December 15, 2014, at 12:00 pm ET. All physicians, physician assistants, nurses, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, and other health care professionals with an interest in bipolar disorder are encouraged to register. In this neuroscienceCME Live and On Demand activity, faculty experts Charles B. Nemeroff, MD, PhD, Terence A. Ketter, MD, and Natalie L. Rasgon, MD, PhD will utilize case-based education to offer clinicians the optimal, real-world context needed to combine the latest science with best practice to improve outcomes in patients with bipolar depression. The cases presented will be as follows:
Bipolar Depression Case 1
A patient diagnosed with bipolar depression with poor adherence to treatment, weight gain, and metabolic issues secondary to the prescribed treatment for bipolar depression was seen by a resident who has since left the clinic. Is a medication switch necessary? What are the next steps?
Bipolar Depression Case 2
A patient diagnosed with bipolar I disorder who is depressed after a manic episode three months prior, and the current medication is a mood stabilizer—what options should be considered?
Bipolar Depression Case 3
A 27-year old woman with bipolar I disorder who was hospitalized for a manic episode eight months ago. She is cycling into a depressed phase and her physician is concerned she may be pregnant. What challenge does a potential pregnancy present for treatment?
Considering these unique cases, participants will be challenged with the question: What is the next step? This program will present a lively and interactive one-hour clinical discussion, following by 30 minutes of Q&A via telephone and/or web.
