Stars of Burlesque From Around the World Featured at the Arizona Burlesque Festival
Tuscon, Arizona (PRWEB) October 20, 2014 -- The Arizona Burlesque Festival, featuring the 2011 New Orleans Queen of Burlesque, Ginger Valentine, the producer and star of the Hollywood Burlesque Festival, Miss Lili VonSchtupp, 30 burlesque and boylesque performers from around the world, and classes on the art and style of burlesque, will be held at The Hut and at the historic Holsclaw Theater at the Temple of Music and Arts, Nov. 13-15. The festival will kick-off Thursday night at The Hut with “The Opening Night Spectacular,” featuring performers from across the country. The “Best Burlesque Competition” on Friday will feature the nation's top performers, competing for the Golden Cacti trophies awarded for Best Burlesque, Most Classic, Most Dazzling and Most Comedic. The “Saturday Night Showcase” is the grand finale for the weekend and will feature an international roster of performers, including burlesque talent from Los Angeles, California; San Francisco, California, Boulder, Colorado and Australia, all performing at the historic Holsclaw Theater at the Temple of Music and Arts.
Festival organizers Fanny Galore, Matt Finish and Scarlotta Sparkle are burlesque stars in their own right. Fanny Galore has performed in festivals around the country including Phoenix, Flagstaff, Denver, St. Louis, Hollywood, San Francisco and Las Vegas. She is also the owner and headmistress of Fanny's Fox Den, Tucson's only burlesque dance studio. Matt Finish has only been performing for two years but has already become a nationally recognized performer, winning “Best Burlesque” and “Master of Assels” at the BurlyPicks National Competition and performing in featured spots in burlesque festivals in Albuquerque, Denver, Las Vegas and Hollywood. He is also an instructor at Fanny's Fox Den. Scarlotta Sparkle is known as Arizona's resident “Ballroom Beauty” who has been a guest performer in a number of Arizona-based shows including Black Cherry Burlesque, Romantasy Cabaret, Elvesque and Birthday Suit Burlesque. She has also performed in Las Vegas, Hollywood, Albuquerque and Dallas. The three have been teamed up for the last two years as co-producers of Don’t Blink Burlesque, host of Tucson’s only weekly burlesque show.

Ginger Valentine performs monthly with the Ruby Revue at the House of Blues Dallas and Houston. The Ruby Revue tours nationwide and has been featured in such events as Viva Las Vegas and New York Lingerie Fashion Week, both for Secrets in Lace. She is the 2011 Queen of Burlesque and 2nd runner-up at the 2014 Miss Exoctic World Pageant in Las Vegas. Also in 2014, The Ruby Revue won “Best Troupe” at the Tournament of Tease at the Burlesque Hall of Fame in Las Vegas. Lili Von Schtupp: Lili VonSchtupp made her debut performance at the legendary Derby in Hollywood CA, on a starry Monday night in 2004. In 2006, she competed in Miss Viva Las Vegas and performed at the legendary New York Burlesque Festival. Having worked with Satan’s Angel, Stephanie Blake, and studied with many burlesque educators and performers, Lili’s been performing, producing and teaching since 2004. Her ten years performing and producing serves as great grounding in the art of burlesque. As producer of Monday Night Tease!, Friday Night Happy Hour, Dinner and a Show, and Burlesque After Dark, Lili has booked over 1200 separate performances and worked with both local, national and international talent. Her unique experience as a performer and a producer allows her the eye to understand what works artistically for the performer as a work of art, and from the audience perspective of entertainment.
