@Properties real estate broker, Natalie Smith delivers results to her clients, a conscience to real estate and a commitment of 10 percent of her commission to local charities and organizations.

If you could help your favorite cause when you bought or sold real estate, would you? Real estate agent, Natalie Smith, is doing more than buying and selling homes for Chicago and North Shore residents; she’s making significant contributions to local charities and organizations by contributing 10 percent of her commission through her ‘Real Estate with Purpose’ initiative.

Over the past 12 months, Smith’s contributions for individual transactions have ranged from $400 to over $1250, and have gone to a variety of local organizations including Chicago mainstays such as The Anti-Cruelty Society, Children’s Charities of Chicago, Infant Welfare Society of Evanston, Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital, as well as the local Chicago chapters of Make-A-Wish, Susan G. Komen and the American Cancer Society, among others.

As part of ‘Real Estate with Purpose’, Smith invites her clients to join her in delivering the donation in-person. This often leads to a greater appreciation of what the funds go to support, and – on one occasion – a client’s adoption of a new furry friend from a local animal shelter. Smith regularly details these donation adventures through her Facebook page,

Smith’s belief is that each of her client’s transactions represent more than a financial investment in four walls and a roof, but a physical commitment to a neighborhood.

“The impact of one more ‘good neighbor’ is immeasurable to a neighborhood,” said Natalie Smith, “Real Estate with Purpose allows me the opportunity to match my clients’ commitment.”

Prior to joining @properties in 2010, Smith was a School Psychologist for Chicago Public Schools after earning a BS in Psychology from Bucknell University in Lewisberg, Pennsylvania, and a Master’s degree in School Psychology from Columbia University in New York. It was through her experience supporting Chicago youths that the appreciation for the transformative power of a strong community was developed, and this appreciation carried over with her transition to Real Estate.
