On October 15, 2014, the San Diego employment lawyers at Blumenthal, Nordrehaug & Bhowmik filed a class action Lawsuit against Clear Connection alleging that the voice, video, and data installation company failed to pay their Field Technicians for all their work performed under the California Labor Code. The proposed class action lawsuit against Clear Connection for alleged unpaid wages and missed meal and rest periods, among other things, is currently pending in the San Diego County Superior Court, Case No 37-2014-00035173-CU-OE-CTL. The class action Complaint filed against Clear Connection by the San Diego labor attorneys at Blumenthal, Nordrehaug & Bhowmik alleges that the Clear Connection failed to correctly record all time worked by their Field Technicians and as a result allegedly failed to pay the Field Technicians the proper minimum wages and overtime pay. The lawsuit claims that the Field Technicians working for Clear Connection were paid on a piece-rate basis only, meaning these employees were paid based on their production for Clear Connection, and as a result, these Field Technicians were allegedly not paid for non-production tasks and overtime worked. The Complaint also asserts a claim under California's meal and rest period laws for Clear Connection's alleged failure to provide full off-duty, thirty minute uninterrupted meal periods to its Field Technicians.
