"I wanted to create a cosmetic case that was both functional and visually reflective of the effortlessly cool and creative message to which my collections translate. I chose the tree print as the focus for this collaboration as it is a signature element of my Fall 2014 collection. The print stemming from a long-time collaboration with my husband and artist, Jon Widman, was a central image used in my designs throughout this season and incorporated into the set design for the show."

About TESS GIBERSON
TESS GIBERSON speaks to an expanding global audience of strong, empowered women. The line is recognized for its cool, effortless and creative aesthetic with a distinct knitwear component. Designer Tess Giberson’s focus originates largely from the influence of her parents, both artists, while growing up in rural New Hampshire in the early 1970s. They raised Giberson with an emphasis on craftsmanship and creativity, traits further cultivated when attending Rhode Island School of Design.
Giberson began her career at Calvin Klein after graduating from RISD in 1996. After a few years refining her technical skills, Giberson parted with the company to focus on starting her own womens line. In 2001, Giberson officially launched TESS GIBERSON, which was initiated from conceptual and thematic ideas. The line was most recognized for Giberson’s experimentation with traditional craft and handwork with extreme consideration to detail as well as for her artist and musician collaborations. It garnered accolades from Barneys New York, which picked up the premiere collection; and prestigious specialty stores across the United States, Japan and France. The collection also garnered attention from the art community, displaying Giberson designs in museum exhibitions such as the 2003 Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum Triennial; “Skin and Bones” at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles; and “New York Fashion” at the Victoria & Albert Museum.
2005 proved to be a pivotal year for Giberson. TSE Cashmere, recognizing her craftsmanship and creativity, hired Giberson as Creative Director. The opportunity of being an integral part of a beloved company and having access to the finest resources was a momentous opportunity to grow. The experience Giberson would gain working for a mass brand on a corporate scale would be invaluable. Realizing she could not decline this offer, Giberson put her flourishing business on hiatus.
In Fall 2010, Giberson re-launched her namesake line. Following her experience at TSE, the knowledge acquired from the global brand paved the path for her company's growth, expanding Giberson's wholesale business worldwide. Coinciding with the re-launch, GIberson opened her first retail space in Soho, New York, with projections to open additional locations over the next several years. The space on 97 Crosby Street acts as both a retail store and a design lab, providing the environment to showcase collaborations as well as the TESS GIBERSON collections. The collection is also sold at prestigious stores such as Barneys New York and Saks Fifth Avenue in the United States, Ron Herman and Isetan in Japan, Boon the Shop and Lotte in Korea. As the company continues to evolve, the TESS GIBERSON brand still preserves the creative spirit since its inception in 2001.
