Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) October 22, 2014
Quickfire Restaurants L.L.C., a leading casual and fine dining restaurant management group in Texas, is proud to announce that C.E.O. Michael Kornman has been selected by the Wacoan as one of the top business leaders behind the revival of downtown Waco. Quickfire Restaurants, with Kornman at the helm, owns and operates Cricket’s Drafthouse and Grill in Lubbock and Waco as well as the award-winning Diamondback’s Steakhouse in downtown Waco.
Kornman opened the first Cricket’s in Lubbock in 1996. The following year he opened a second location in downtown Waco and, a year later, purchased the adjacent DiamondBack’s from its founder. This year the company opened The Hall at River Square Center, a special events venue next to DiamondBack’s.
“It’s an honor to be recognized among business and civic leaders in Central Texas,” Kornman said in response to the Wacoan citation, part of the cover story of the October 2014 issue. “Our restaurant teams take great pride in being a part of the rebirth of downtown Waco and for being able to serve Wacoans our distinctive brand of world-class culinary experiences for nearly two decades.”
Having gone to high school in Chattanooga, Tennessee during its downtown revitalization, Kornman established Quickfire Restaurants with the idea to bring major metropolitan-area dining concepts, like those found in his native Dallas, to smaller markets, which he developed an appreciation of and saw an opportunity for during his years in Chattanooga.
