Telecom Operator, CEO and Growth Story Shortlists Announced for TMT World Awards 2014
London, UK (PRWEB UK) 23 October 2014 -- 13 multinational operators, including mobile and fixed networks, and 8 telecom sector CEOs have been announced in the final shortlists for the TMT Operator, Leadership and Growth categories of the TMT World 2014 Awards which will be presented at the London Hilton, Park Lane on November 18 http://www.tmtfinance.com/world/awards/
Deutsche Telekom, Etisalat Group of the UAE, Liberty Global, Ooredoo of Qatar, Telenor of Norway and Vodafone, which is headquartered in the UK, were announced as finalists in the TMT World Operator of the Year category.
The Awards recognise outstanding leadership, growth strategies and performance in telecoms, media and technology investment globally, and take place following the TMT World Congress 2014, which gathers key industry and finance leadership.
The 8 CEOs selected as finalists for the Global Leadership Award are: Ahmad Abdulkarim Julfar, CEO, Etisalat Group; Daniel Hajj Aboumrad, CEO, América Móvil, which is headquartered in Mexico; Jon Fredrik Baksaas, President and CEO, Telenor Group; Mats Granryd, President and CEO, Tele2 Group; Napoleon Nazareno, CEO, Smart Communcations and PLDT of the Philipinnes; Scott Gegenheimer, CEO, Zain based in Kuwait; Sifiso Dabengwa, Group President and CEO, MTN Group of South Africa; and Vittorio Colao, CEO, Vodafone Group.
In the Growth Story section the finalists were: Africa Internet Group; Altice Group, the regional European fixed and mobile operator which is based out of Luxembourg; IHS Holding Limited, the African mobile towers operator; Iliad SA, which owns Free Mobile in France; Liquid Telecom Group, the East African multi-service operator; WIOCC, the African telecom wholesaler; and Zayo Group, the US-based international broadband infrastructure provider.
