Ortho Classic Announces Another Victory in U.S. Federal Appeals Court
McMinnville, OR (PRWEB) October 22, 2014 -- Ortho Classic, a leading supplier of high-quality orthodontics products distributed in 85 countries, announced today that a federal court has found that the H4 bracket pioneered by Ortho Classic does not infringe on a competitor’s patent (13-1679 - World Class Technology Corp v. Ormco Corporation). This is the third time that the courts have affirmed Ortho Classic’s position after Ormco Corporation filed a patent infringement suit against the company, and puts an end to Ormco’s attempts to stop Ortho Classic from selling the H4 bracket.
This week, the United States District Court for the District of Oregon issued an opinion in Case No. 3:13-cv-00401-AC, finding that Ortho Classic’s H4 bracket does not infringe Ormco Corporation's '896 patent. The appellate court affirmed the prior judgment to that effect issued by the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon.
Ortho Classic President Mr. Hagelganz said, “Once again, the H4 bracket has been vindicated by the legal system. We are happy to put this unnecessary chapter behind us so that we can continue to serve our market with a great product that has revolutionized the orthodontics market.”
