New Business Brings Needed Services to Seniors, Families in Austin
Austin, TX (PRWEB) October 21, 2014 -- Brandon and Elizabeth Mirabal are looking forward to bringing needed relief to seniors and their families through their new business, Caring Transitions of Greater Austin.

The Mirabals decided to open an Austin franchise location after experiencing what many of their clients are facing. It all started when Elizabeth’s mother had hip surgery and found she had trouble maintaining her home.
“My wife took time off from her teaching job and spent many days caring for her mother and working on the process of moving, but it wasn’t enough. The transition took several family members a series of hard-worked weekends to complete the process,” Brandon said. “When my wife’s aunt passed away earlier this year, we witnessed the effects that illness and loss can have on the individual and family members; exhaustion, upset feelings, quarreling, and feeling overwhelmed. When the time came to clear out the home, they were too exhausted and simply gave away most of her belongings instead of earning money to help pay outstanding bills.”
“We know there are families in our community who have had to face the same challenges. We launched Caring Transitions to take those weights off their shoulders so they can be with their families during this often difficult time,” Elizabeth added.
In addition to owning Caring Transitions, the Mirabals own i9 Sports, which offers youth sports leagues, camps and clinics with a focus on fun and safety. Prior to his career as an entrepreneur, Brandon, who has a B.S. in Sports Medicine from Pepperdine University, spent 11 years in an administrative position in the medical field. Elizabeth is a bilingual special education teacher and works with the franchises part-time.
The college sweethearts’ passion for helping people all started at a young age. Brandon experienced blindness in one eye at ages 9 and 18 due to a detached retina and had to end his plans to play collegiate baseball after a career-ending elbow injury while Elizabeth grew up in an inner-city as a latch-key child after her father was the victim of a violent crime. Brandon and Elizabeth were recipients of much-needed community support during difficult times and grew to appreciate the value of helping others.
“We understand the value of hard work and family dedication, even in the face of adversity, and we know how to get through difficult transitions in life. We have faced our own set of challenges and it can be a struggle. Both of our franchises are focused on family and helping people overcome some of those challenges,” Brandon said.
In addition to the physical services Caring Transitions provides, each Caring Transitions franchisee is a Certified Relocation and Transition Specialist, a designation bestowed by an independent organization that evaluates providers of senior relocation services. The company is trained, bonded and insured. All employees are corporately trained and background checked. This new franchise will bring several new jobs to the area as the business grows.
