San Diego Workshop Offers Emotional Skills Training For New And Expecting Parents
San Diego, CA (PRWEB) October 23, 2014 -- Drawing on decades of research into healthy parenting styles, this San Diego workshop will offer new parents the essential skills to raise an emotionally healthy child. The relationship between unresolved childhood distress and parenting difficulties is well known. If a mother has not resolved her own childhood issues, the probability that her child will suffer similar ones is very high.
Because parents who have not received adequate parenting themselves have unmet emotional needs, until these needs are met, they will likely lack the capacity to provide the same nurturance to their child; despite their best efforts.
This workshop will focus on healing core wounds, teaching emotional literacy and cultivating empathy and compassion for self and child. Research shows that these skills drastically improve a child’s chance for success in critical areas of its life like interpersonal relationships and emotional wellbeing.
