San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) October 22, 2014
Privilege Underwriters Reciprocal Exchange (PURE), the policyholder-owned property and casualty insurer designed for high net worth individuals and families, today announced that it is one of the presenting sponsors of The San Francisco Fall Antiques Show, considered one of the most prestigious art and antiques events on the West Coast. The show, themed “The Rush of Gold: Precious Metals in Art and Antiques,” will be held Thursday, Oct. 23 to Sunday, Oct. 26 at Fort Mason’s Festival Pavilion, following a Preview Gala on Wednesday, Oct. 22.
This year’s show will feature more than 60 of the most reputable dealers from around the world, offering a range of fine and decorative arts from different periods – including jewelry, paintings, prints, photographs, books, textiles and ceramics. In accordance with this year’s theme, the show’s lecture series will focus on the use of gold and silver in art and antiques, and their importance to the birth of San Francisco.
“For centuries, precious metals have been used by artisans in paintings, jewelry, inlaid furniture, textiles, porcelain and china, objects d’art and book binding”, says Ariane Trimuschat, Director of the Fall Antiques Show. “They have a natural beauty and value on their own – in an artist’s hands, they can be shaped and molded into an array of forms and be made even more beautiful. This is also part of a rich history in San Francisco as the Gold Rush of 1849 gave birth to the city we know today.”
As a specialist provider of insurance for collectors of jewelry, fine art and other valuables, PURE will have representatives on-hand throughout the show to discuss the protection options available for such items, as well as the factors that families should consider before selecting insurance.
“We are proud to be a sponsor of the San Francisco Fall Antiques Show, an event that is rooted in passion for fine arts and antiques that is shared by PURE and many of our members. With our new office in San Francisco and our growing presence throughout the state, we’re glad to be part of this prestigious event that both celebrates the arts and gives back to local students,” said Bryan Luker, Vice President and California Regional Executive of the PURE Group of Insurance Companies.
Proceeds from the event benefit the Enterprise for High School Students, a San Francisco non-profit that prepares Bay Area youth for their future through job readiness training, employment and career exploration.
