San Diego, Calif. (PRWEB) October 22, 2014 -- Everyday Energy, the nations leader in affordable housing solar PV, is pleased to announce that Wayne Waite has joined its team in the role of Vice President for Business Development and Public Policy.
Wayne Waite’s career includes over 35 years of Federal Service where he last served as the Regional Energy and Climate Manager for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and provided policy and technical support for HUD’s energy priorities and initiatives. His work in this area has directly contributed to increased awareness and investment in energy efficiency and renewable energy, as well as measurable improvements to the energy performance of federally supported housing assets. During his 35 years of public service, he has held various senior management and policy positions in Washington D.C. and has been the recipient of public service awards and commendations for his contributions to public policy. In addition to his work in energy and sustainability, he has extensive experience in community engagement and strategic planning, housing development and asset management, transportation, and public finance.
Mr. Waite will support Everyday Energy’s operations by advancing business strategies and solutions that increase access and deploy clean energy technologies in underserved affordable housing markets through Everyday Energy’s groundbreaking Affordable Housing Solar Lease agreement. He will work directly with affordable housing and energy officials on a wide range of financing and policy solutions to remove barriers and build partnerships to scale Everyday Energy’s comprehensive distributed energy resource solutions, lower property operational costs, and improve the long-term resiliency and affordability of multifamily housing.
“The addition of Wayne Waite to our team underscores and helps to solidify our commitment to our affordable housing clients to ensure we continue to provide valuable and innovative solutions that help both their bottom line as well as their mission to provide affordable housing and tenant benefiting programs,” said Everyday Energy’s Co-Founder and CEO Scott Sarem. “Wayne has been at the forefront of energy efficiency and renewable energy adoption and deployment and has been an outstanding resource to affordable housing developers as well as the US Department of Housing and Urban Development for the last 15 years. In fact, Wayne was instrumental in crafting President Obama’s Climate Action Plan 100MW goal for solar PV on government assisted affordable housing by 2020. We are excited that he will continue his leadership in his role at Everyday Energy.”
