Convergence creates common responsibility and reporting for IT and physical security departments and offers the potential for overlooking major gaps and threats.
(PRWEB) October 22, 2014
Modulo, a leading provider of Technology Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) solutions, announced its presence at the EVANTA Global CISO Executive Summit 2014 being held October 27-28 at the Intercontinental New York Times Square, New York. Modulo will sponsor an Executive Boardroom session titled “Can the CISO Facilitate Convergence of IT and Physical Security?” The discussion will be led by Michael Wilson, VP &CISO of McKesson Corporation and Tim Callahan, VP & CISO of Aflac and will be moderated by Modulo’s Managing Director Stephen Gant. Modulo will also be a sponsor of the Global CIO Executive Summit October 29-30 in the same venue.
Despite growing interdependencies involving processes and technologies across IT and physical security domains, risk and compliance issues are traditionally managed by different teams. With this ongoing convergence, the lines of responsibility and reporting in these departments allow the potential for overlooking major gaps and threats. This session will debate if the CISO can facilitate common (i.e. cross-departmental) reporting and shared processes for IT and physical security risk and compliance. It will explore how CISOs can achieve effective risk and compliance management through cooperation as well as oversight of physical security groups. Participants will also discuss the kinds of platforms that permit assessments and common reporting across otherwise distinct silos.
Executive boardrooms are intimate and interactive sessions designed to foster dynamic dialogue around a specific, strategic topic. These private, closed-door discussions encourage attendee participation and are limited to 20 attendees. To qualify for attendance please contact email@example.com.
