The company is pleased to announce that for the first time, a ridiculously limited amount of the beer will be available in 22oz bottles, in addition to draft offerings in select accounts. Originally brewed as the company’s San Diego Beer Week beer in 2012, Peanut Butter Cup Porter was an instant hit, garnering praise from raving fans across the region. This year, Karl Strauss has ramped up production, more than doubling the amount of beer brewed. “We sold out of this beer in about a week last year, so to meet surging demand we brewed a larger batch this time around,” says Paul Segura, Brewmaster, Karl Strauss Brewing Company. “It’s amazing to see how this beer has been embraced by our fans and we’re excited to release it across the state.”
Karl Strauss’ Peanut Butter Cup Porter is an innovative spin on a classic robust porter. “Nothing goes better with chocolate than peanut butter, so we decided to marry those two flavors in this fun, decadent beer,” says Segura. “We use a blend of chocolate malts, caramel malts and cocoa nibs to create a robust rich dark chocolate flavored porter and we add in all-natural ingredients for layers of smooth peanut butter. Drinking a pint of this beer is the grown-up version of Halloween in a glass!” This limited-edition release will be available in bottles and draft the week of October 27 across the state of California, including on tap at the brewery’s tasting room as well as its satellite breweries, where it will be the featured beer-of-the-month and paired with an insanely delicious frozen peanut butter and jelly ice cream sandwich.
