The Fitness Games App Debuts and is Available for iPhone and Android Users
Bethesda, MD (PRWEB) October 28, 2014 -- The Fitness Games was created by Arya Farzin and Joseph Phillips, two nationally certified trainers with a combined 20 years of experience in the fitness industry, and an equally impressive passion to create a way to engage others in fitness activity to make a better life for themselves. They had a vision to create a phone application that motivates people, not just here in the U.S., but all over the world, to become healthier and fitter individuals.
Obese his whole life, Arya dealt with a lifetime of worrying. Whether it was worrying if his clothes would fit, or worrying about being teased for his size. He finally conquered obesity his sophomore year of college, and he wishes the Fitness Games would’ve been around back then to help him. “I lost over 200 lb’s because I was driven to save my life and change it forever. The Fitness Games would have been amazing to have through my weight loss journey,” Farzin said. Arya believes that the support of a community of friends and virtual workout partners would have gone a long way, especially in keeping the weight off and staying in shape.
The Fitness Games went live on August 9, 2015 for iPhone users, and Android went live in September. The Fitness Games takes exercise and turns it into a game. You can challenge anyone, anywhere, to any type of workout, proudly post fitness photos and videos, or simply challenge yourself with one of the many workouts designed by the personal trainers. With the app, friends in all countries are able to compete and even connect via GPS to track each others progress in real time.
Each user can create their own workout or choose from over 50 personally crafted workouts to challenge themselves, a friend, or a random opponent from anywhere in the world. Workouts are divided into four categories: Cardio, Strength, Full-body, and Cross Training. Each category operates on a unique scoring system that was carefully designed to determine how hard the user exercised to determine the winner of each match-up. Points earned during challenges can be used to level up in The Fitness Games as well as unlock free workouts. All workouts performed are tracked, scored, and saved so the user can see their progress over time.
