Seniors Guide Goes Purple for Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness in November
Richmond, Virginia (PRWEB) October 27, 2014 -- Seniors Guide is going purple in a show of solidarity in advocacy and to raise awareness for Alzheimer’s Disease during the month of November.
Beginning November 1, 2014, visitors to Seniors Guide Magazine’s online resources will be greeted with the color purple. Because November is National Alzheimer’s Awareness month, Seniors Guide will be featuring nursing homes and assisted living communities that offer Alzheimer’s care, educational articles on Alzheimer’s Disease and dementia, and more.
Popularized by the National Alzheimer’s Association, purple is the official color of the Alzheimer’s awareness movement. Seniors Guide views their November 2014 initiative as an extension of the popular END ALZ campaign.
“Alzheimer’s is affecting more people every year, and there is currently no cure for the disease”, says Katharine Ross, Vice President of Seniors Guide Magazine and http://www.SeniorsGuideOnline.com.
“In the US, every 67 seconds someone is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease”, says Ross.
“We want to do everything we can to raise awareness and support the movement.”
One of the first noticeable differences to Seniors Guide in November will be the color purple prominently featured throughout their comprehensive resource website, SeniorsGuideOnline.com.
In addition to the color change, the homepage of the senior citizen website will feature an “END ALZ” banner directing website visitors to a collection of all resources for Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care including: Assisted Living retirement communities offering memory care and Alzheimer’s support, educational articles, statistics, and links to the National Alzheimer’s Association and local affiliate websites.
Seniors Guide’s monthly newsletter, the Bulletin, will also be a special feature issue featuring Alzheimer’s resources and more. To subscribe to Seniors Guide’s Bulletin monthly newsletter, visit http://www.seniorsguideonline.com/get-bulletin.
“Visitors to our social media resource pages will also recognize similar themes”, says Ross.
Seniors Guide will be raising additional awareness for Alzheimer’s research and resources on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and YouTube.
