Suffolk University’s Sawyer Business School Named One of The Best Business Schools for 2015 by The Princeton Review
Boston, MA (PRWEB) October 23, 2014 -- The Princeton Review has selected Suffolk University’s Sawyer Business School as one of the best institutions in the nation for a student to earn an MBA degree citing its “solid preparation in general management and teamwork” with a focus on “preparing students for the real world.”
The Sawyer Business School joins the exclusive group of institutions profiled in The Princeton Review’s 2015 edition of its guide The Best 296 Business Schools.
Inclusion in the prestigious list is determined by an analysis of key criteria including Best Campus Environment, Best Professors and Best Career Prospects.
“Everyone at Suffolk is delighted to be recognized as offering one of the best business degrees in America,” said Suffolk President Dr. Norman Smith. “I’m proud to applaud the achievements of our talented and dedicated faculty who have earned this distinction.”
Graduates of the Sawyer Business School have seen a steady increase in average salary, along with strong employment rates, according to a Suffolk University Career Development Center survey of Sawyer MBA graduates from the class of 2013. The survey, which included full and part-time MBA graduates, revealed an average salary of more than $81,000 for those respondents, while nearly 93 percent are employed.
“Being named as one of Princeton Review’s Best 296 Business Schools attests to the quality and the career focus of our MBA curriculum,” said William J. O’Neill, Jr., dean of Suffolk University’s Sawyer Business School. “We understand the importance of an MBA program that facilitates real-world success and we have instituted a program that accomplishes this goal, which is why the career statistics for those who graduate from our MBA program continue to excel year after year.”
Commenting on their Suffolk University experiences, students praise professors as “Suffolk’s greatest strength” noting their “holistic approach to management.” The students say the professors are “working professionals teaching relevant courses” that emphasize a “balance of quantitative management skills, while recognizing the importance of interpersonal qualitative skills.”
Students in the Global MBA program participate in international internships and commend the “diversity [of] hands-on learning experiences through global travel seminars.”
The students take advantage of Suffolk’s long-term career planning efforts. They say the professional development workshops and career seminars “push us to develop career plans” and “different skills that will help us in planning and pursuing our careers.” Top employers include Fidelity Investments, Bank of America, KPMG, PricewaterhouseCoopers and State Street Corporation.
Suffolk students also appreciate the school’s commitment to working professionals with its “program flexibility” that “allows us to balance both work and school.” The school’s convenient “urban setting close to work” is a benefit for students working in the Financial District.
"We recommend Suffolk University’s Sawyer Business School as one of the best institutions a student could attend to earn an MBA,” said Robert Franek, senior vice president-publisher for The Princeton Review.
