WEDI Appoints Four New Security and Privacy Workgroup Co-chairs
RESTON, Va. (PRWEB) October 24, 2014 -- The Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange (WEDI), the nation’s leading nonprofit authority on the use of health IT to create efficiencies in healthcare information exchange, announces its appointment of four new co-chairs to the organization’s Security and Privacy Workgroup. The workgroup leaders include:
• Peter Dumont, Senior Director – Privacy Office, Optum
• Erik Pupo, Specialist Leader, Deloitte Consulting LLP
• Deidre Rodriguez, Director of Corporate Privacy Office, WellPoint
• Richard Wagner, Security and Compliance Officer, ABILITY Network
• Mark Cone, Principal, N-Tegrity Solutions Group Consulting, LLC (Existing co-chair)
• Marian Reed, Senior Director, McKesson (WEDI Board Liaison)
The named executives will guide WEDI’s efforts to help facilitate the implementation of HIPAA/HITECH privacy and security requirements across many variations of covered entities, business associates and interested parties across the healthcare industry.
