Local Physical Therapy Patients Urging Congress to Improve Access to Physical Therapy
East Greenbush, NY (PRWEB) October 25, 2014 -- Many of our local residents have needed physical therapy for different injuries or following surgery. At times, they have been worried that, although they pay their Medicare premiums and deductibles, they might be denied coverage because of an arbitrary cap set by the Center for Medicare Services (CMS). The physical therapists at Columbia Physical Therapy in East Greenbush and Valatie educated their patients to contact their members of Congress and were successful!
Congressman Paul Tonko is a co-sponsor of a bill that would enable patients to receive necessary therapy for their specific diagnosis and not be cut off by an arbitrary cap. Representative Tonko is visiting the East Greenbush office on Monday, October 27th to celebrate National Physical Therapy Month and to see first hand why it is important to pass this legislation. Senators Shumer and Guillibrand and Representative Chris Gibson are also co-sponsors.
Event: 10/27/2014 1:00 PM at Columbia Physical Therapy 3 Springhurst Drive East Greenbush, NY 12061.
