SQFT Announces World's First Home Sale via Mobile App - Buyer and Seller Close Deal with SQFT App
Boulder, Colorado (PRWEB) October 23, 2014 -- SQFT, the world’s first fully transactional real estate app, is pleased to announce that its first electronic real estate listing is under contract. The seller, Helen M. of Boulder, Colorado listed her home on the SQFT app using her iPhone and quickly received an offer on her iPhone from the buyers, Melanie and Garrett S., also of Boulder, Colorado. The parties negotiated their price and terms exclusively through the app until they reached a deal. Within minutes of agreeing to terms, the Seller and Buyer signed a contract on their iPhones using nothing more than their finger as a stylus.
“It was a great experience,” said Melanie, the homebuyer. “It’s going to be the way that people transact in the future.”
“It was smooth, comprehensive and very professional,” said Helen, the seller. “The process was amazingly efficient."
SQFT is running a pilot launch of its transactional real estate app until the end of November. Qualified homeowners in Colorado who are interested in selling their home during this time will pay no listing commission when their home sells. Once the pilot is over, homeowners will typically pay only 1% (instead of the usual 6%) when their home sells. A few slots are still available for the pilot and homeowners are encouraged to sign up at http://www.sqftx.com.
“Our app is easy-to-use and can save both buyer and seller tens of thousands of dollars. If a user ever has a question or gets stuck, help is just a tap away” explained James Simpson, a co-founder of SQFT and the transaction broker of record for the deal.
The Company plans a launch that will cover the entire state of Colorado in November. By early next year, the Company anticipates several other launches including San Francisco, California.
