CSG Named Top Workplace for 2014 and Inc. 500’s Fastest-Growing Company in San Antonio
San Antonio, TX (PRWEB) October 27, 2014 -- Culture.Service.Growth. (CSG) was named as a Top Workplace for 2014 for mid-size companies by the San Antonio Express-News and WorkplaceDynamics, and was the only San Antonio-based company listed in the Top 500 on Inc. Magazine’s annual list of fastest-growing privately held companies in the United States for 2014.
This was the first showing on both lists for CSG, which provides 100% U.S.-based call center services and management and operations consulting for major corporations. The company, headed by managing owners Tim Handren and Tim Montgomery, was launched in 2009 with a two-fold mission – provide a different kind of customer service and treat people like they matter – which they credit as the cornerstone of their success. This “excellent people = excellent service” formula has helped CSG quickly grow from 10 original team members to 550 with another 200 expected to be hired by the end of 2014.
“Our company is called Culture.Service.Growth. for a reason. If you create a great cultural environment full of happy employees who want to provide fantastic service, the growth will come organically,” said Montgomery. “We’ve added nearly 400 employees in three years, and growing that fast requires leaders who embrace change and aren’t paralyzed by the unexpected. Our leaders do amazing things every day and we could not be more proud of their achievements.”
“It’s our first showing on the Inc. 500 and I hope it won’t be our last, but the Top Workplace award is extra special because that one comes from our employees. The way Tim and I see it this award is also for our employees,” said Handren. “I know for certain the main ingredient to our success is a highly engaged group of team members that truly believe in each other and the company, which is directly related to our growth, and that has been both astonishing and humbling.”
Top Workplace for 2014
CSG was named the number two mid-size company out of more than 600 San Antonio businesses in that category for Top Workplace in 2014. Winners were announced at an awards luncheon October 23 at San Antonio’s Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa and featured in the Top Workplaces special section of the October 26 published edition of the Express-News.
This is the sixth year the San Antonio Express-News has teamed up with WorkplaceDynamics, an independent research firm, to recognize the city’s best places to work and to spotlight companies that are taking care of their employees. Winning companies are chosen from employee surveys on a variety of workplace topics like company leadership, compensation, training, workplace flexibility and diversity, and results are verified by an independent organization.
2014 Inc. 500|5000 List
Ranked #198, CSG is the only San Antonio company listed in the Top 500 on Inc.’s 33rd annual ranking by its editors of the fastest-growing 5,000 privately held companies in America and one of only 19 San Antonio-based companies listed overall. It ranked #11 on Inc.’s Top Business Products & Services Companies category and #16 on the magazine’s list of Top Texas Companies. With $8 million in revenues in 2013, up from $350,000 in 2010, CSG’s three-year growth rate of 2,182% is impressive as most of the companies on Inc.’s list averaged 516% growth in the same three-year period. The aggregate revenue for the Inc. 5000 is $211 billion, with companies generating 505,000 jobs over the past three years. Inc. featured its Top 500 in the September issue of the magazine (available through Nov. 30) and celebrated honorees at an event in Phoenix last week.
CSG Team Leader Reaction
"The explosive growth at CSG is the result of what happens when senior leadership empowers others to make decisions on their own. With handcuffs removed, we are able to innovate, create and implement at a running pace. Barriers to growth simply do not exist here." – Josh Bailey, CIO
“Managers are allowed to manage adult agents like adults and employees are allowed to learn from their mistakes. I've never worked at a company that encouraged employees to be as honest and open as the leaders.” – Jesse Reyes, Senior Operations Manager
“It’s been amazing to see how CSG has grown over these last few years. Other companies can only dream of this type of growth, and our employees have done tremendous work to make this our reality. The best thing about CSG’s growth is that our culture is still intact – employees are still smiling and still telling their friends and family about this great company. Our goal is to grow, but it’s also making sure that employees are still proud of CSG and the work that we do for our customers.” – Jennifer Ferrill, HR Director
“It's hard to describe the feeling of watching what was a small company turn into this big, fantastic workplace. To put it simply, I'm very proud to be a part of something that has been so successful." – Stuart Wilding, Senior Operations Manager
