e-Builder, the pioneer in fully integrated, cloud-based construction program management software, announced today that the City of Auburn, Washington has selected e-Builder Enterprise to manage the city’s capital improvements program. Located between the cities of Seattle and Tacoma and sprawling across 2 counties, the CIP team made the decision to begin using a system that would provide more transparency and consistency for the city’s $50 million capital program which run the gamut of road improvement projects to expansion of water lines to a brand new community youth center.
With a projected launch date of early 2015, the city is planning to use e-Builder Enterprise to keep daily project information current, track expenditures, forecast and track budgets, scheduling, and for document storage. After evaluating different types of software, it was determined there was a need for a system that was more transparent and more effective and the recommendation was made to the city council to move forward with e-Builder. The city plans to address the issue of having multiple sources of information who manage data differently by streamlining all project information into e-Builder Enterprise. The consolidated information will allow for accurate and timely reporting to stakeholders, such as the City Council and the public.
Jacob Sweeting, the Assistant City Engineer for the city said, “We’ll be using e-Builder Enterprise as a means to improve transparency, productivity, and effectiveness, of the capital program.” He added, “With the ability for us to more efficiently manage more projects with the same amount of resources, we expect to see a 15-20% gain in production of capital project output through the implementation of e-Builder.”
e-Builder’s construction program management software is designed for the owner. Sweeting explained, “We chose e-Builder because it is software designed from an owner’s perspective.” He added “With this perspective, Charles Hoffman, e-Builder’s Business Analyst assigned to help the City set-up and integrate e-Builder, has been phenomenal in understanding the City’s business practices and addressing those practices within the e-Builder environment. Jon Antevy, Co-Founder of e-Builder said, “Our goal is to help owners improve project outcomes, helping them save time, money and other resources.” He continued, “We are thrilled to add the City of Auburn, WA to our growing family of government clients, and help them achieve their goal of becoming more transparent and more effective in their capital improvement program.”
