New Mexico Approves Triumph Learning’s Coach for High School Instruction
New York, NY (PRWEB) October 30, 2014 -- The New Mexico Public Education Department has approved Common Core Coach, an inclusive curriculum that adds depth, understanding, and practice to Common Core standards and skills training, for high school instruction in American literature, world literature and composition throughout the state. Developed by Triumph Learning, producer of critically acclaimed K-12 texts and interactive digital tools, these Common Core Coach titles have been approved for use for up to six years within all public high schools in New Mexico.
Beginning Jan. 1, 2015 districts in New Mexico can implement the learning program in three courses for supplemental instruction and assessment. Common Core Coach American Literature I and II and Common Core Coach World Literature I and II provide national and international topics with an emphasis on nonfiction texts and historical documents. To help students understand the research and writing process, teachers across the state can also incorporate Common Core Coach Composition I and II into their lessons. The series offers lessons on specific writing types using writing prompts and hints to spark comprehension.
“We are pleased to provide Common Core Coach for these subject areas to high schools across New Mexico,” said Mike Morley, publisher for Triumph Learning. “Our learning solutions provide teachers with the tools they need to prepare students for assessments in English language arts. Most importantly, Common Core Coach is a simple and comprehensive solution that is easy to implement in any classroom.”
Common Core Coach for American literature, world literature and composition provides direct instruction on key comprehension strategies and Common Core State Standards requirements. Teachers guide students to master skills with structured, targeted lessons. Concepts are introduced in multiple ways, and the program provides ample time for student collaboration, independent practice of all concepts and skills, and assessment.
