Christopher Harrison and AntiGravity® Fitness Take Fashion to New Heights with Alexander Wang x H&M Fashion Show Collaboration
New York (PRWEB) October 28, 2014 -- Fashion took to the skies to celebrate the October 16 launch of the highly anticipated Alexander Wang x H&M collection. Playing off of the line’s sporty vibe, the gymnasium at The Armory on the Hudson was transformed into a parkour (aka free-running) playground featuring stunning aerial acrobatics masterfully choreographed by AntiGravity® Creator and Founder, Christopher Harrison. Guests were awed as Alexander Wang-clad aerial gymnasts jumped out of the shadows and dropped down from the ceiling before the runway show started.
Mr. Harrison, a world-class athlete, a Broadway dancer and an award-winning aerial choreographer, is the mastermind behind the creative endeavors for AntiGravity® Entertainment and Fitness. No stranger to the fashion world, he has choreographed events such as the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show and Milan Fashion Week, as well as shows for Costume National, Giorgio Armani, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs, and Heidi Klum.
After more than 20 years of appearing in the Olympic games, TV award shows, and even Presidential Inaugurations, AntiGravity®’s aerial acrobatic performances continue to merge hardcore acrobatics, dance, strength, and grace up into the air.
This movement installation performed by Team AntiGravity® utilized all dimensions of space through parkour, trampolining and rappelling on the runway.
“Being asked to collaborate with Alexander Wang on his collection for H&M was an honor,” states Mr. Harrison. “In keeping with the sport-inspired theme of his collection, we created a parkour playground in the middle of the runway, integrating with the rafters 80 feet overhead. Together, we defied the laws of physics in both action and fashion."
The show, which also featured mega rap star Missy Elliott, gave attendees a preview of the collection, which will be available in 250 H&M stores worldwide and online starting November 6, 2014.
