Saulsbury Industries (Saulsbury), a leading provider of engineering, procurement, construction, maintenance and fabrication services to heavy industrial leaders, was awarded two contracts from American Electric Power to construct two air pollution control equipment facilities, commonly known as baghouses. The facilities are located in northeast Texas at Southwestern Electric Power Company’s Welsh Power Station, a subsidiary of American Electric Power.

The first contract awarded in August was for duct work to be fabricated on-site with support from Saulsbury’s fabrication facility located in Henderson, Texas. The second was recently awarded and includes structural and mechanical services for the final phase of installation. Saulsbury will construct the facility, and provide overall project supervision and craft labor. The construction workforce, including subcontractors will include as many as 325 craft and staff workers. The project is scheduled for completion in April 2016.

Saulsbury’s culture of safety has historically produced one of the pre-eminent records for incident-free operations in the construction industry.

“On behalf of the Saulsbury Construction Team we are proud to have been selected by AEP to be their construction partner in the fabrication and installation of this significant environmental clean emissions Baghouse project for their Welsh Units.” - Charles “Bubba” Saulsbury, Jr.
