MSC Nutrition has been appointed the official performance nutrition partner of Scottish Rugby.
The three-year deal will see MSC Nutrition supply performance products for the senior and representative Scotland teams, Edinburgh Rugby and Glasgow Warriors.
Rhys Dyer, Business Development Director of MSC Nutrition said: “We are delighted to be in partnership with Scottish Rugby. Having already established significant industry-leading partnerships across a host of sporting sectors during the past year, with the likes of London Welsh, Leicestershire County Cricket Club and Wrexham Football Club, we’re looking forward to working with the Scottish Rugby players and the strength and conditioning coaches to align the players’ nutritional requirements through providing them with a range of innovative, Informed-Sport certified products.”
The announcement comes just weeks before the start of the viagogo Autumn Tests, which sees Scotland take on Argentina, New Zealand and Tonga. It is also a crucial time for MSC Nutrition’s brand ambassador, Welsh Rugby Captain Sam Warburton, who is also preparing for the Autumn Internationals.
Scottish Rugby lead nutritionist, Richard Chessor, said: “It’s great to have MSC Nutrition as part of our programme. The brand places a heavy emphasis on performance and quality so their products will easily integrate into our existing nutrition strategies. By aligning the MSC products with our food-based strategies we can ensure that the player's needs can be met to support performance, recovery, adaptation and general health throughout the season. We take a carefully considered approach to nutritional supplements and the rigorous steps that MSC take to ensure their products are free from banned substances via the Informed-Sport programme is an incredibly important reason behind why we have partnered with them.”
Scottish Rugby director of Commercial Operations, Communications and Public Affairs, Dominic McKay, added: “We’re delighted to add MSC Nutrition to our growing family of sponsors and partners and look forward to working with them in the seasons ahead.”
