Farris, Riley & Pitt, LLP to Help Local Veterans for National Day of Action
Birmingham, AL (PRWEB) October 28, 2014 -- Did you know there are more than 50,000 homeless veterans in the United States? It’s a startling number to say the least.
To help do its part, Farris, Riley & Pitt, LLP has teamed up with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and Guiltless Giving to show support to homeless veterans in the local community by volunteering time to the Birmingham VA facility as part of a nationwide community outreach event — known as the Injury Board Day of Action (#IBDayofAction).
On Thursday, November 6, 2014, attorneys and staff from Farris, Riley & Pitt will visit the Birmingham VA facility. The firm will also participate in an onsite service project during their visit.
“Most of us don’t realize just how many veterans are homeless in this country,” says Ken Riley. “As a firm, we are dedicated to giving back to our community and we are truly honored to be part of a national day of action to honor those who have risked their lives for our freedoms.”
The IB Day of Action is a nationwide, collaborative effort to bring together more than 100 plaintiffs’ lawyer firms across the U.S. — all working for the same cause on the same day.
“We are passionate about helping our Injury Board members give back to their communities; it’s part of the DNA of our organization,” says Tom Young, attorney-at-law and co-founder of The Injury Board. “We are extremely proud to bring our members together for this day of action. To make even the smallest difference is better than making no difference at all.”
