40th Annual SAE International Convergence Offered Glimpse of Mobility Electronics Future
WARRENDALE, Pa. (PRWEB) October 29, 2014 -- More than 2,000 attendees from 22 nations discussed the technologies and challenges for mobility electronics today, as well as what may lie ahead in the future during the 40th Annual SAE International Convergence.
Hosted by Chrysler, SAE 2014 Convergence was held Oct. 21-22 at Cobo Center in Detroit.
Chris Barman, Unit Responsible, Electrical and Electronics Engineering for Chrysler Group LLC, served as General Chair for the event. Timothy L. Callard, Uconnect Business Development and Product Planning for Chrysler Group LLC served as Vice Chair and Stephen J. Buckley, Unit Responsible, Senior Technical Fellow – Electrical for Chrysler Group LLC, served as Technical Program Chair.
Highlights from the two-day event include:
- Opening Keynote - Ralph Gilles, Senior Vice President, Product Design, Chrysler Group LLC
- Banquet Keynote - Ulrich Homann, Chief Architect, WW Enterprise Services, Microsoft Corporation
- Seven technical sessions with topics including, Roadmap to Vehicle Automation; Future of Technology Delivery; A Secure Personal Mobility Experience; Millennials: The New Generation of Employees; and 40-year Look Ahead - 40 Year Predictions
- An Executive Visionaries Panel that included representatives from Chrysler, Ford Motor Co., Mercedes Benz, General Motors, and Flextronics Automotive
- OEM participation from BMW, Chrysler, Daimler, Ford, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Tata, and Toyota.
- Young Professional Speed Mentoring Session that included 78 mentors/mentees.
- 71 exhibitors and 16 sponsors, along with 270 attendees for the annual banquet
